Sewing
I got my first sewing machine in January 2004, but I don't have time to sew much. Still, here are some things I made before I started chronicling projects in my blog instead. Click the thumbnails to see each project bigger.

jellyfish skirt

jellyfish skirt

A-line skirt with a jellyfish applique. I love marine invertebrates.

letter-writing kit

letter-writing kit

A portable container for everything needed to write a letter, start to finish. Stamps on the left, homemade envelopes and stationery on the right, more stuff in the back pockets like mail to respond to, adhesive to close the envelopes, pens, and address labels. See the inside of the kit here.

polka-dot skirt

polka-dot a-line skirt

Flared cotton skirt with curved seams. The curved seams on the skirt were really hard to get right, and the fabric didn't drape properly so I had to make some alterations. It turned out well in the end. Another view of the skirt is here. See a close-up of the fabric and the lace here.

bloomers

white cotton bloomers

White cotton bloomers; come to just above the knees, with an elastic waist, and ruffles and lace at the bottoms. They're made from a very modified pajama pants pattern. I custom make them for people for $40; let me know if you're interested. More photos of girls wearing bloomers are on my photos page. Here's a close-up of the lace at the hems.
reversible pouch

milk and ink reversible pouch

A little pouch, about 4 by 5 inches, made from scraps. Click the thumbnail to see what it looks like inside out. The applique is of a glass of milk and a bottle of ink, because the pouch was made for a friend whose blog's name is "milk and ink."
magenta skirt

milk and ink reversible pouch

A-line, bias-cut magenta cotton skirt; decorative stitching done on my sewing machine. This was my first skirt with a zipper and it turned out well.

Acrobatics
Click above for an old trapeze project of mine, on its own page.
